Mumbai: A Pune court on Friday granted bail to sacked IAS probationary officer Dr Puja Khedkar’s mother Manorama Khedkar in connection with a case involving threatening people with a firearm vis-a-vis property dispute.
The court granted bail to her on furnishing Rs 50,000.
Manorama Khedkar was arrested on July 18 by the Pune-Rural police.
Manorama Khedkar, a former Sarpanch, was arrested from a lodge in Raigad by Paud police station after which the court remanded to police custody twice and then to 14 days judicial remand.
Additional Sessions Judge Ajit Mare, who granted her bail, imposed several conditions including not to contact or influence the complainants/witnesses, keep off the jurisdiction of the Paud police Station till the investigations are on, not leave Pune district and cooperate with the police and other agencies.
Her husband Dilip Khedkar, a retired state government employee, had been granted anticipatory bail, in the same case.
The video, which seems to be a few years old, has surfaced on social media platforms.
She had a pistol in her hand and was heard asking - “Show me the saat-barah (7/12 land extract records)…this (land) is in my name…if you claim, show me the court order.”
Manorama Khedkar was accompanied by a few bouncers at the time of the incident.
