Mumbai: Reiterating the BJP-led Centre’s resolve to wipe out terrorism and naxalism, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the twin operations of Operation Sindoor and Operation Black Forest sends out a clear message that "no one can now mess with people of India".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that “goli ka jawab gola se milega”, Shah said addressing ‘Shankhnaad’ rally at Nanded in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra on Monday.

“Operation Sindoor has sent the message to not just Pakistan but also the world that no one can mess with India’s armed forces, its people and borders,” he said, highlighting how the Indian armed forces struck a massive blow to Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror strike on tourists.

Pointing out that "new India" will not tolerate terrorism, he said: “Perhaps Pakistan forgot that 11 years ago, there was a Congress government, which has now changed (with a BJP-led NDA government)…They (Pakistan-backed terrorists) attacked us in Uri, and we retaliated with a surgical strike. They attacked us in Pulwama, and we carried out an airstrike. And when terrorists targeted Pahalgam, we launched Operation Sindoor, which destroyed their terror hotspots.”

According to Shah, the days of "inaction" are over and under Modi’s leadership, India has changed its strategy and now responds decisively to any threat.

Shah also reiterated that Naxalism would be wiped out from the country by March 31, 2026.

“When Operation Sindoor was being undertaken by the armed forces, the Operation Black Forest was underway by CRPF, Chhattisgarh police and Border Security Force neutralising several Naxalites. Several Naxalites were also arrested and many surrendered,” he said.

Targeting late Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, he said, “Modi had ended the Indus Water Treaty which was signed by Nehru…Modi also suspended all trade with Pakistan. Modi has said trade and terror cannot go together,” he said.

Shah slammed Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, saying he had mocked the all-party delegations as “baraat” (wedding party).

“Had Balasaheb Thackeray been alive, he would have hugged Modi. But a Sena (UBT) leader called the delegations a 'baraat'. I don’t know what has happened to the Uddhav Sena. They are calling the delegations a 'baraat' even though their own members are a part of it,” he said.

Shah also criticised NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar for doing “nothing” over the demand for classical language status to Marathi, which he said was fulfilled by Modi.
