Mumbai: Describing Congress as a “Manuwadi” like the BJP, veteran politician and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi founder Prakash Ambedkar slammed Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and sought an explanation on the vacant posts of SCs and STs in Karnataka which is ruled by the grand old party.
The 70-year-old lawyer-activist-politician, Ambedkar, is the grandson of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Constitution of India.
“The truth is that Congress, like the BJP, has been a Manuwadi all these years… The past and present of both the BJP and Congress is riddled with Manuwadi and anti-Ambedkarite policies,” said Ambedkar.
“Can he explain the 1032 vacant posts for SC/STs in Congress-ruled Karnataka!? Or, the fact there is only 10.65 per cent SC and 2.92 per cent ST representation in state government positions in Karnataka? During the last Congress rule in 2004-14, 57 per cent SC, 63 per cent ST and 60 per cent OBC seats for professors were vacant in Central Universities. Isn’t the Congress complicit?,” Ambedkar posted in X.
“The issue of NFS has been raised by SC, ST and OBCs for decades! Now, for votes during the election season, Congress has suddenly remembered NFS while conveniently forgetting that they are responsible with the BJP for NFS! The past and present of both the BJP and Congress is riddled with Manuwadi and anti-Ambedkarite policies,” he said.
