Mumbai: The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) on Sunday demanded an immediate all-party meeting on the developing India-Pakistan situation even as the party’s Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for agreeing to a United States-sponsored ceasefire.
“Why India agree to a ceasefire before the completion of Operation Sindoor,” asked Raut, the chief spokesperson of Shiv Sena (UBT), who is a close aide of the Thackeray family.
“The cannot be considered completed until the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack are eliminated. Yet, a ceasefire was initiated due to United States President Donald Trump's advice,” he said.
"They have destroyed the Sindoor of our 26 mothers and sisters, that is why we conducted Operation Sindoor, you must have seen, they have insulted Sindoor, they have insulted our Hindu culture, tell me what revenge did you take?" Raut told reporters.
“Modi had repeatedly spoken about entering Pakistan and killing terrorists. This was Modi's language. But where has that language gone now?” he said.
"Why hasn't Trump stopped the Israel-Gaza war? It is still going on. Trump pressured India to stop its action against Pakistan. This is an attack on our sovereignty and it shows the weakness of our government,” he said.
