West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday accused the BJP and the RSS of inciting riots in the state. She accused the BJP MP from Asansol Babul Supriyo of running around with money bags, along with RSS leaders.

"Neither Hindus nor Muslims incite riots. It is the RSS that indulges in such acts," said Banerjee. She was addressing a Trinamool Congress (TMC) rally at Raniganj in Asansol Lok Sabha constituency. She said that before the BJP came to power there were no communal riots in Asansol.

It can be recalled that the two communities had clashed last year in Asansol over Ram Navami rallies.

The TMC supremo also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for accusing her of thuggery. "He does not have the manners to talk about a woman. This guy is not suitable to be a Prime Minister," said Banerjee.
