The accused Prakash Shinganapure killed his wife Pranita (34) and daughter Shreya (13) by attacking them with a sharp weapon while they were asleep at their home in Jagruti Nagar, they said.
Shinganapure later stabbed himself in the abdomen with the weapon, police said adding that he was was rushed to the Mayo General Hospital for treatment.
Though the motive of the killings could not be known immediately, police suspect domestic quarrel as one of the reasons behind the crime.
Shinganapure's brother who is a constable in the GRP has lodged a complaint with the police, they said.
