Security forces arrested a person along with 9.75 kilograms of explosive material in the form of 78 gelatine sticks and 275 meters of wire in the hilly Doda district of Jammu on Wednesday.

A defence spokesperson in a statement said that the explosive material was recovered during an operation conducted based on specific information at the Gunda area of Doda.

“The recoveries include 78 gelatine sticks with explosives weighing 9.75 kgs and cordex – 275 metres,” he said and added one person has been arrested and further investigations were going on.

Pertinently, a similar consignment of gelatine sticks and other explosive material was recovered from a hideout near a hydel power project in neighbouring Kishtwar district a few days back.
