Militants today triggered two IED blasts near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir, injuring an army personnel.

Suspected militants planted an IED close to patrolling track along the LoC in Panjni forward belt in Mendhar sub-sector in Poonch district and triggered a blast to target an Army patrol party, a senior Army officer told PTI.

In the blast, a Junior commissioned officer (JCO) was injured and has been hospitalised, the officer said. The blast occurred near Cheel forward post along LoC, as per the reports.

Earlier in the day, militants triggered an IED blast near the LoC in Rajouri district. No one was, however, hurt in the blast.

"An IED exploded near the Line of Control at 10:25 AM near Gambhir area. However, no one was hurt in the blast," Defence spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said.

He said the security forces immediately cordoned off the area, "to carry out a detailed search of the area. Security forces have cordoned off the area". On Saturday last, militants had carried out a similar attack by detonating an IED in Krishnagati belt of Poonch district.
