Disclosing this here on Monday, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said the aim of the summit was not only to woo industrialists to invest in Bangalore but also in other district centres in the State.

He said the Government would hold discussions with former president A P J Abdul Kalam on his concept of PURA (providing urban facilities in rural areas), which the State Government has implemented.

According to the chief minister, the State legislature should meet for a minimum of 60 days a year. He has already spoken to Assembly Speaker Jagdish Shettar and requested him to firm up fixed dates each year to hold sessions like those in Parliament. This year, the two Houses will have met for 35 days by the end of the special session.
