A priest and two nuns, who are facing allegations of having tried to cover up the rape of a minor girl by a Catholic priest, surrendered before the police in Kannur on Friday.
They have been listed as accused in the case registered in connection with the rape by Fr Robin Vadakkancheril (48) of a minor girl in his parish in Kannur.
Fr Thomas Joseph Therakam, former chairman of the Child Welfare Committee in Wayanad, Sr Betty Jose, former CWC member, and Sr Ophelia, superintendent of an orphanage in Wayanad, surrendered. Another accused, Thankamma, a parish assistant, is yet to surrender.
