Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the “burning” situation in Gujarat and said Anandiben Patel, who offered to step down as chief minister, was being made a “scapegoat”.
“Thirteen years of Modi rule, not 2 years of Anandiben, are responsible for Gujarat burning,” Rahul said on Twitter, a day after Anandiben Patel announced her resignation on social media.
Anandiben’s resignation offer came amid a flare-up of protests in Gujarat, first over the job quota for the Patel community and later over atrocities against Dalits in Una.
