Though, no arms were seized from their possession, Maoist literature was recovered from them, police said. Vetti Deva alias Deva, a native of neighbouring Chhattisgarh, was apprehended from Paloncha in Khammam district, Circle Inspector of the area Ravindranath Bandi told PTI by phone.

Deva worked as a Maoist dalam (group) member from 2006 to 2008 in Kunta area of Chhattisgarh. He was allegedly involved in the killing of three persons who were targeted on suspicion of being police informers, he said.

"On the instruction of Maoists from Chhattisgarh, he (Deva) had migrated to Khammam district to expand CPI (Maoist) base there," the police official said. In a separate incident, a 39-year-old woman, B Sulochana, and her son B Vikas (aged around 20), who allegedly worked as couriers to the Naxals, and another woman Maoist- member, B Anuradha alias Jyothi, were nabbed in Warangal.

The trio was rounded from the bus stand at Eturnagaram town when they were trying to sneak into Chhattisgarh, another police officer said. Jyothi is wanted in over 20 Naxal-related cases in Mahbubnagar, Medak, Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda and Kurnool districts, he said.
