SP patron Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday sought votes for his daughter-in-law, Aparna Yadav, who is contesting from the Cantonment Assembly seat here.

Aparna is the wife of Prateek Yadav, Mulayam’s son from his second wife.  During his 30-minute speech, Mulayam took son Akhilesh Yadav’s name only once, but heaped praise on the government, which, according to him, had taken several measures to develop the state.  “Aparna has been active in this constituency for several years.

She will do more after becoming its representative,” Mulayam said. The party chief launched an all-out attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not fulfilling any of the promises made during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. “Not fulfilling promises is the biggest corruption,” he said.
