The Covid-19 positivity rate in Mumbai has fallen to 5%, the lowest-ever since the viral pandemic broke out in March in Maharashtra.

“The Covid-19 test positivity for the past 10 days in Mumbai looks promising. But we should not be complacent and not lower our guard,” Mumbai’s Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal said.

When the pandemic broke out, the positivity rate was as high as 35-36%, he said.

On Friday, as many as 16,394 tests were conducted in the city, of which 825 or 5.03% came out positive.

Of the 16,394 tests, 8,867 were RT-PCR and 7,527 Rapid Antigen.

As many as 684 RT-PCR tests and 141 Rapid Antigen tests were positive.
