Cocking a snook at the law enforcing agencies, Naxalites, owing allegiance to the banned outfit CPI (Maoist), on Thursday threatened to blow up Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s cavalcade during his Sewa Yatra in Aurangabad.
The Maoists on Thursday morning put up posters in Naxal-infested district which read as follows: “Lal Salam (Red salute), we have decided to boycott chief minister’s Sewa Yatra in Aurangabad. If our two demands – release of think-tank member comrade Pramod Mishra from the jail and removal of Central Reserve Para-military Force (CRPF) camp from Madanpur – are not met, we will blow up the cavalcade of Nitish during his proposed visit to Aurangabad.”
Mishra, who was apprehended from Jharkhand, is facing 24 criminal cases. The posters have been put up by the CPI (Maoist), Magadh division, in several parts of the district.
Unperturbed over such threat, Nitish on Thursday left for Aurangabad by a chopper. Flanked by Water Resources Department Minister Vijay Choudhary and few senior officials, he visited Goh, a stronghold of Maoists, and took stock of the various welfare schemes launched under his regime.
