The National Eligibility and Entrance Test – Post Graduate exams will be held on September 11, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Tuesday.

“We have decided to conduct the NEET Postgraduate exam on 11th September, 2021. My best wishes to young medical aspirants,” the minister tweeted.

The NEET-PG, conducted by the National Board of Examinations in January, was first deferred to April due to the Covid-19 pandemic. As the second wave of the pandemic engulfed the country, the government announced that the exam will not be held before August 31.

The exam is held every year to grant admissions to the 30,000 post-graduate seats in medical colleges.

Government had drafted a large number of final year MBBS students and junior residents for Covid-19 duties such as teleconsultation and attending to patients with mild symptoms after an orientation program under supervision of the faculty.
