Former MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan may get organisational responsibility soon

Chouhan while speaking to media during his visit to Delhi on Tuesday, said he would actively participate in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra being envisaged by PM Narendra Modi.

We are working on a mission and the worker's role is decided by the party. However, I will love to work both in central and state, told Chouhan.

BJP former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan underlined that he was not aspiring for any post and instead working to fulfil his party’s mission of nation building.

This statement by Chouhan is being construed as entrusting him the organizational responsibility at the centre soon.

But the possibility of Chouhan being adjusted in the union cabinet during the next rejig by Modi, can not be ruled out. Chouhan was rushed to Delhi following a call for a meeting with national president JP Naddha on Tuesday (December 20).

Later Chouhan said the cabinet expansion issue also came up for discussion. He will extend full support to newly appointed CM of state Dr Mohan Yadav, said Chouhan.

"It is time to work together with a 'whole of government' approach, through closely working with each other. We need to be on the alert, but there is no need to panic. It's important to be prepared with mock drills of hospital preparedness, increased surveillance and effective communication with people. A mock drill should be done in all hospitals once every 3 months. I assure all support of the Centre to States. Health is not an area of politics." said Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Health Minister, at the review meeting on COVID-19.

Liquor smuggler runs car over inspector in Bihar

Inspector Khamas Chaudhary, at 12:30 am on Wednesday (December 20) morning, stood with the police car near the Chhatauna Budhi Gandak river bridge with three home guard jawans.

Upon seeing the police presence, the driver smuggling liquour increased the speed of the car, hit Inspector Chaudhary and killing him.

Goa Cong chief flays state health minister

Goa Congress president Amit Patkar has criticised the state health minister for not issuing any Covid-19 protocols despite the ensuing Sunburn Festival. "Goa Health Minister has not issued any statement so far regarding regulations, restrictions on the Covid cases like those increasing in Kerala. No circular or restrictions have been issued for the Sunburn Festival. I think this is something very serious...Seeing the Covid cases surge, I think the Goa government should call off such cases where there is a risk to human life..."
