A special team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) has visited Bihar’s Samastipur district in search of Tehsin alias Hasan a suspected Indian Mujahideen operative.

The NIA team, headed by an assistant superintendent of police (ASP), is looking for this IM module for his alleged role in Hyderabad blasts case.

Tehsin, who is in his early 20s, is on the run after carrying out terror attacks at several places including New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.

Though the officers who have launched a manhunt for Tehsin refused to share information about the search operation, sources said an arrest warrant had earlier been issued by a Delhi court against the fugitive IM operative for his role in Delhi blast case. Tehsin is a close associate of Danish, who is alleged to be the right hand man of IM founder Yasin Bhatkal. Danish was arrested by NIA last month from Laheriasarai in Darbhanga.

An expert in configuring improvised explosive devices (IED), Bhatkal had married the daughter of Md Irshad Khan, who though stayed in Chennai, but is originally from Samastipur. Irshad has already been arrested for his links with Bhatkal.  Sources said that the IM founder stayed at Darbhanga, the neighbouring district of Samastipur, under the guise of an Ayurveda doctor, where he was known as Dr Imran.
