Sources said the Finland-based telecom major’s latest move may force BlackBerry to follow suit.

Nokia (India) Vice-President and MD D Shivakumar called on Home Secretary G K Pillai and handed over a letter, saying the company has conformed to all the requirements suggested by law enforcement agencies.

The company, however, informed its customers that their privacy would be protected, even while fulfilling public responsibility and legal obligations.

Meanwhile, pressure is mounting on Research-in-Motion, makers of BlackBerry, to install its server in India.
