One of the girls and a youth, who was with her, recorded their statements in a Muzaffarnagar district court on Tuesday before an additional chief judicial magistrate.
The girl was then taken to the district jail for identifying the culprits who have been lodged in the jail after their arrest.
Special Director-General of Uttar Pradesh Police Brijlal on Tuesday said one of the girls — Komal Shah — was brought from Delhi under tight security for recording her statement in the court.
Komal reportedly narrated the incident that had taken place on the National Highway on last Tuesday night, according to police sources here.
The other girl did not come as she reportedly feared retaliation from the legislator’s goons. “We are ready to provide her full security,” top police officials said in Muzaffarnagar.
Seven persons, including two gunners of the MLA and his wife, who is the chairperson of the Muzaffarnagar district panchayat, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Two nephews of the MP are still absconding.
