Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday conveyed his unhappiness to the Leader of the Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad on the House disruption after members from all parties agreed to discuss the National Register of Citizens (NRC) of Assam.

Sources said, after the House was adjourned for the day, Naidu called the senior Congress leader to his chamber to convey his unhappiness over the way discussion on NRC in Assam was derailed.

The vice president, they said, was particularly concerned over the way some Opposition members rushed into the Well of the House.

Naidu said it looked as if the disruption towards the end was pre-planned and if it were so, it was very unfortunate.

Sources said the Chairman was upset over the way a consensus on debating an important issue was derailed, particularly after he acceded to the members' demand of dropping the Question Hour in favour of an immediate discussion on the NRC.
