Over 200 rail stations face threat from extremists

Railway stations like Cuttuck, Puri, Bhubaneshwar and Rourkela are facing maoist threat in Orissa.

In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Railways E Ahmed said that the first phase of the integrated security system will be implemented in these sensitive stations of Orissa.

Four railway sections in the state have been identified as vulnerable. These include Tomka-Keonjhargarh-Jaroli section, Koraput-Rayagada-Araku, Rayagada-Parvatipuram town, Sambalpur-Angul section and Titlagarh-Raygada section.

In another written reply, the state minister said trains are escorted by RPF and GPF in vulnerable sections and stations across the country. And additional deployment is done at strategic points.
