Police have launched a search for the suspects over the attack which took place on October 3, the AAP reported.

The 36-year-old woman was forced into a car between 4 am and 5 am local time that day, investigators were told. She was then driven to an unknown location where she was sexually and physically assaulted.

The woman passed out and later regained consciousness, finding herself partially clothed and bleeding on North Road, a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.

"The woman had been walking around Dandenong Road or Warrigal Road when the men approached her and had a short conversation before she returned to a motel she was staying at," police official Sean Martin said.

"She later went back out and had seen these people again when she was forced into the car. It was vicious in the sense that she was punched in the face and eye, suffering an abrasion, bruising and bleeding as well as being sexually assaulted. Anyone who lives nearby or knows the people involved would know the car."

It is said that one of the two is believed to be of Indian sub-continental appearance, who was in his 20s, with a thick accent.
