Pakistan violates ceasefire along IB in Samba sector

Pakistan troops targeted three Indian posts along the International Border (IB) in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir violating ceasefire for the 15th time within 18 days.

"There was small arms firing on three Border Out Posts (BoPs) along IB in Samba sector last evening for a brief period of half-an-hour", a BSF official today said.

The firing was resorted to by Pakistan Rangers on Narayanpur, Pindi and Stop-2 posts.
BSF did not retaliate, he said, adding, there was no loss of life or damage to property in the firing.

Pakistan has violated the ceasefire 15 times by firing mortars, rockets and small arms in the past 18 days along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

On August 19-20, Pakistani Rangers fired on Indian posts of Mala Bela, Garkhal, Sidra camp and Naka Number-10 along IB in Akhnoor sector of Jammu sector, in which one Pakistan intruder was killed.

On August 19, Pakistan troops violated ceasefire by firing on forward posts in Krishnagati belt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector.

On August 17, there was heavy cross-border small arms firing on Indian posts along the IB in Abdullian and Korotona Border Out Posts (BoPS) from Pakistan in R S Pura sub-sector in which one BSF jawan was killed.
