Palaniswami invites Modi to unveil Jaya's portrait in State Assembly

Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami invited the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to unveil the portrait of former late chief minister J Jayalalithaa in the chamber of the State Legislative Assembly at Fort St. George here.
 
In a letter to Modi, Palaniswami said "Sir, a towering personality and statesman like you, who has upheld the finest traditions of our vibrant democracy and maintained the cherished values of our Parliamentary system, would be the befitting person to unveil the portrait of our revered leader "Amma" (Jayalalithaa)".
 
Palaniswami said the people of Tamil Nadu would be extremely happy the Prime Minister could kindly consent to unveil the portrait Jayalalithaa in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Chambers.
 
"I, therefore, seek your convenience to grace the occasion on any day during the month of July, 2017 as the chief guest of the function to be held in the Assembly Chamber and to unveil the portrait", Palaniswami said.
