He also ascertained that India is very close to getting a complete anti-drone solution, and it will be achieved within six months. Over the language row, he said that Hindi is not in competition with any Indian language, it is only a friend of other languages. A total of 30.97 lakh women street vendors have benefitted from the PM SVANidhi, making up 45 per cent of the total beneficiaries under the scheme, the government informed Lok Sabha on Thursday.

In a written reply to a question, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu said that 69 per cent (around 43.68 lakh) of beneficiaries are from marginalised communities -- OBC, SC and ST.

The Pradhan Mantri Street Vendors AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme was launched on June 1, 2020 with the objective to facilitate collateral free working capital loan to the street vendors across the country whose business had been adversely affected due to the Covid-induced lockdown.

While Lok Sabha witnessed two adjournments in the pre-lunch period till the house was adjourned for the day at 2 PM, Rajya Sabha was adjourned thrice in the pre-lunch period till the final adjournment at 2 PM.

Opposition MPs in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday rallied behind the DMK MPs who wore t-shirts with slogans against a proposed delimitation exercise and stressed that the rules of Parliament do not dictate any dress code for the members.

The DMK MPs attended Parliament on Thursday wearing t-shirts with the slogan "Delimitation -- Tamil Nadu will fight, Tamil Nadu will win", which was objected to by the chair in both Houses.

Some MPs also donned stoles with slogans that played upon Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's remarks on the DMK MPs' protest in the Lok Sabha against the three-language formula of the National Education Policy (NEP) and had the word "uncivilised" written on it, with the first two alphabets -- "U" and "N" -- crossed out.

Trinamool Congress MPs on Friday staged a walkout from the Rajya Sabha after the House did not take up the Question Hour and Private Members' Bills, and instead resumed discussion on the working of the Home Ministry.

Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said the House needed to finish the discussion on the working of the Home Ministry on Friday as guillotining of various demands for grants 2025-26 is set to take place in the Lok Sabha.

Several opposition opposed the proposal to let go of the Question Hour and Private Members' Bills.

Soon after the House met, TMC MP Sushmita Dev questioned why the discussion on the Home Ministry was listed on Friday, even though it is the day for Private Members' business.

"Uri and Pulwama attacks happened our government came to power but, within ten days we retaliated with surgical strikes."

Shah also mentioned his recent visit to the northeast and meeting with the chief ministers there. Shah added that Modi government "reduced the distance between" Delhi and northeastern states.

"Seizure of drugs increased from 25 lakh kg from 2004-2014 to more than 1 crore kg from 2014-2024," said Amit Shah in Rajya Sabha.

He also said that because of India, the word started acknowledging the drug routes-- Golden Triangle and Golden Crescent as Death Triangle and Death Crescent.
