No plans to conduct SSC exams only in Hindi: Ajay Kumar Mishra

The government has no proposal to conduct the examinations of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) only in Hindi, Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra said in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

Mishra also ruled out making Hindi compulsory in all central government offices and institutions, saying the question does not arise.

The government is giving ex-gratia assistance of Rs 50,000 to the kin of those who succumbed to Covid-19, Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said in Rajya Sabha.

The ex-gratia amount to the Covid-19 victims are being given following a Supreme Court order and guidelines issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, he said replying to a written question.
