The police have decided to re-verify the passports issued in Deoband, apparently on the alert, after the reports that some members of the Bangladeshi terror outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) may have procured passports at addresses in the town in UP's Saharanpur district.

Police officials said that a re-verification drive would be launched in the next couple of days in Deoband, that housed the prestigious Islamic seminary Darul Uloom.

A similar drive would also be launched in the neighbouring districts of Muzaffarnagar and some others, sources here said.

The police had arrested a member of a Bangladeshi terror outfit from Muzaffarnagar in August this year.

''We have reports that some people, associated with Bangladeshi terror outfit, may have got passports issued at addresses in Deoband,'' said a senior police official in Saharanpur.
