A Pune-based social activist on Wednesday approached the Supreme Court against the Bombay High Court’s order, that has rejected his plea for stopping the release of film PM Narendra Modi on Friday.

“The high court by its order on April 1 allowed the movie to be released during the imposition of the model code of conduct and it would frustrate the very purpose of the free and fair election,” the petition filed by Satish Sugriv Gaikwad stated.

He expressed apprehension that Vivek Oberoi-starrer biopic on Modi may influence the electorates to vote for particular candidates during the general elections 2019.
