Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind has resigned from the gubernatorial post following his selection as NDA Presidential candidate and President Pranab Mukherjee has accepted it.
 
A Rashtrapati Bhavan communique on Tuesday said the President has accepted the resignation of Kovind and West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi has been given the additional charge of Bihar.
 
Tripathi will discharge the functions of the Governor of Bihar, in addition to his own duties, until regular arrangements for the office of the Governor of Bihar is made, the communique said.
 
Kovind was declared the NDA candidate on Monday after a meeting of the BJP Parliamentary party here.
