It was not known if it was to avoid wastage of the 'laddoos' (a kind of sweet) or a reluctance to make her weight public.

Congress star campaigner and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra found herself in a fix, when, during her campaigning in her brother and party president Rahul Gandhi's Lok Sabha constituency of Amethi, some workers on Wednesday evening insisted on her being weighed in 'laddoos'.

The workers told Priyanka that they would be distributing the 'laddoos' equal to her weight.

''Do you think I weigh more than a quintal?'', the Congress leader told the workers laughing. She, instead, made one of the party workers sit on the balance and asked the workers to distribute the 'laddoos' equal to his weight.

It was quite common for the politicians to be weighed in 'laddoos' or sometimes in coins by their party workers.

Priyanka, who was on a two-day visit to Amethi, held meetings with booth level party leaders in different parts of Amethi LS constituency. She asked the party workers to strengthen the party at the grass root level.

''Our immediate goal is the LS polls but we also have to prepare ourselves for the 2022 assembly polls in the state,'' she said while addressing party workers at Gauriganj in Amethi.

Priyanka was scheduled to visit Ayodhya on Friday and hold a roadshow there. She also planned to pay obeisance at the famous Hanumangarhi temple in Ayodhya and visit some other important religious places there. It was not yet clear if she would also be visiting the makeshift Ram Temple.
