Following stiff resistance from Keralites, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has revoked the decision to drop a set of Kerala's traditional dishes from its menu.

'Appam', 'Puttu', 'Unniappam', and 'Neyyappam' which are made of rice, and some other dishes will be back to the menu of IRCTC's refreshment centers at railway stations.

Lok Sabha MP from Ernakulam in Kerala took up with top railway authorities the concerns of Keralites over IRCTC's recent menu revision, which led to the elimination of some traditional dishes. The social media also witnessed strong resentment of Keralites over the move and it also triggered allegations that Kerala dishes were being replaced with North Indian dishes.
