Ayan Adak, a student of the pharmacy department of the Uluberia Calcutta Institute of Pharmaceuticals Technology, hanged himself from the ceiling of the cowshed adjacent to his house at Alinan village in East Midnapore, the police said.
The traumatised boy was admitted to Uluberia hospital after he was subjected to repeated physical and mental abuse and returned home on Thursday, the police said.
