Opposition parties on Saturday joined ranks with the RJD to protest against the shelter home rape case in Bihar. Two days after Kumar voiced his anguish over the incidents, RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav mocked him saying the “conscience of his uncle” woke up late and questioned why the name of main accused in the alleged rape of over 40 girls in the Muzaffarpur Shelter Home did not figure in the FIR.

Yadav was speaking at a day-long protest organised by the RJD at Jantar Mantar which was attended by Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Sharad Yadav, CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, CPI leader D Raja, Trinamool Congress leader Dinesh Trivedi.

“It was the same Jantar Mantar. One Nirbhaya had shaken the foundation of the UPA government. This issue relates to 40 Nirbhayas. Many heads will roll,” Arvind Kejriwal said alleging that big leaders from many parties could be behind the Bihar incident.

Kejriwal left the venue before Rahul Gandhi's arrival. Gandhi also asked Kumar to act immediately on the matter but primarily trained his guns on the BJP. He said opposition leaders will stand in unison with women and children and leave no stone unturned to ensure that they are protected.
