With the Doklam stand-off refuses to die down, Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday expressed hope that the deadlock will be broken soon, saying he is sure that China will make a positive move.

Singh's comments came even as the two countries are yet to find a common ground on the Doklam issue while there is a build up on the border though New Delhi has said that only dialogue would help resolve it.

Admitting that there is a deadlock, Singh said, "there will be a solution soon and I am sure China will make a positive move. I want to convey a message to all neighbouring countries that India wants peace."

He said China is also inclined to a peaceful solution to the issue while emphasising that India has never attacked any country nor it has expansionist ambitions.

"We expect a positive move from China," Singh said at a function organised by Indo-Tibetan Border Force (ITBP). ITBP guards the 4,057 km Sino-India border.

Referring to former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee's comments that one changes their friends but not neighbours, he said New Delhi wants friendly relations with all countries. However, Singh added, Indian security forces are capable enough to tackle any challenge from any aggressor.

The face-off started on June 18 when the Indian Army went to Doklam Plateau to stop the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) from constructing a road in the tri-junction of India, China and Bhutan.

In Parliament earlier this month, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said the issue should be resolved through talks and war would not help. "War is not a solution to anything. Even after the war, there has to be a dialogue. So, have the dialogue without a war... Patience, control on comments and diplomacy can resolve problems," she had said.

Defence Minister Arun Jaitley had said that the armed forces are prepared to face any eventuality. "Our defence forces are ready to take on any eventuality," he said without making any specific reference to to Doklam.
