Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday took stock of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir following the suicide attack on a police station, even as the Congress tried to corner the National Democratic Alliance government in Parliament over the issue.

Singh spoke to the director general of police and instructed him to beef up security arrangements, while also asking Home Secretary L C Goyal to closely monitor the situation.

Congress floor leader in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad raised the issue in Parliament on Friday.
Singh revealed details of the attack and the action taken by the security forces.
