A local court today referred the anticipatory bail plea of suspended IAS officer B B Mohanty, who has been accused of raping a civil services aspirant, to a court dedicated for cases of atrocities against women.

Mohanty, who has been accused of rape by the 22-year-old civil services aspirant, had through his counsel moved the anticipatory bail application yesterday in the district court.
The court today referred the case for hearing in the court of women atrocities cases.

The woman lodged an FIR against Mohanty, an additional chief secretary rank official who was posted as the Chairman of Rajasthan Civil Services Appellate Tribunal, in January.
She alleged that Mohanty had raped her several times on pretext of helping her crack the civil services exam.

Mohanty did not turn up for interrogation despite notices and is absconding.
