The newly re-instated Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Thursday ruled out any possibility of snap polls in the hill state after a nearly two month spell of President’s Rule.

Rawat, who met Congress President Sonia Gandhi here on Thursday evening, made it clear that he has received directions to put the state back on the track of development.

“Governance had derailed in the state during the two months of President’s Rule. My priority is to put governance back on track and speed up development projects,” Rawat told reporters here when asked about the possibility of a snap poll.

Rawat had assumed charge as Chief Minister on Wednesday night as soon as the Modi government revoked President’s Rule in Uttarakhand after facing flak in Court.
