Venkataswamy is survived by two sons and a daughter.Hailing from Tumkur district, he had also served as district judge.He was also the 'pranth sahasanghachallak' of RSS besides serving as chairperson of the Basavanagudi Anatha Sishu Nivas and Abalashrama.
He also served as vice-president of the Shree Guruji Janmashatabdi Samiti during 2006.
