New Delhi: Birsa Munda and the role of women in society will be the focus of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal Baithak, a workers’ meet held annually.

This year, the meet will be held across three days – October 30 to November 1 – at Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur. The saffron organisation will also mount a massive outreach programme, fanning out to households for contact programmes, and hold “Hindu” meets across the country.

RSS media chief Sunil Ambekar on Tuesday said that a key discussion will be held on women and their engagement with society. The RSS will also issue a statement on the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda.

Apart from Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, and the six Sah-Sarkaryavahs will be present. In attendance will be 407 workers from 46 prants across the country. Prant is a form of division of the Sangh.

Ambekar said that this year, the RSS will carry out a campaign called the Grah Sampark Abhiyan under which RSS workers will fan out across the country, and spend anywhere between 25 to 40 days in each prant.

“Volunteers will go door-to-door with some literature, including leaflets and booklets. They will contact households to convey the message of panchparivartan (five transformations) – family enlightenment, social harmony, an environmentally friendly lifestyle, self-awareness, and civic duty,” he said.

Ambekar also said that the Sangh will carry out another programme called Hindu sammelans, which will be held in small settlements and mandals. “At the district level, Pramukh Nagrik Goshti (conference of prominent individuals), and in cities and towns, Samajik Sadbhav Baithak (social harmony meetings) will be held,” he added.

Efforts are also made to contact the prominent individuals, prominent organisations, monasteries and temples, social organisations, educational institutions, and business organisations who support Sangh work, he added. A statement will be issued on the 350th death anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur.

“Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat ji will be participating in various public events as part of his nationwide tour, expressing his views on the Sangh. He will speak in Bangalore on November 8 and 9, in Calcutta on December 21, and in Mumbai on February 7 and 8,” Ambekar said.
