A cousin of actor Salman Khan has been booked by the Mumbai Police on charges of stalking his dietician.

The complaint was lodged at the Oshivara police station on Friday, the victim's lawyer Abha Singh told Deccan Herald on Saturday night.

“We had to convince the police officers for six hours, and had to submit all proof before they lodged the FIR,” said Singh.

The victim, a 25-year-old US-educated dietician, was employed by Khan in March 2015 and had counselled him for nearly two months.

The accused, Abdullah Mirza Khan, is the son of Salman's father and scriptwriter Salim Khan's sister.

The Khan family, however, has preferred to stay away from the episode. Sharing the details of the case, Singh said the dietician was employed in mid-March this year, when she developed a relationship with Abdullah, who is in his mid-30s, but later broke off. It is then the trouble started.

“The man used to park his vehicle in front of her house. He even damaged her laptop and hacked into her social media accounts,” she said, adding that when she said she would complain to the police, he threatened her and her father.

“He held her father by his collar and told him to back off,” said Singh. “He even went to the extent of saying that they are moneyed people and they would not be able to touch him,” she said.

This led the dietician to quit her job with Khan. A one-time personal counsellor for Jessica Alba, Hillary and Hailey Duff, the dietician has now made India her base.

Her list of clients include Daisy Shah, Shahid Kapoor, Sohail Khan, Salma Salim Khan and Sonakshi Sinha.

Singh said when the victim first approached her, she advised her to collect all the details.
“She collected all the details from social media and photographs of her shredded bags, broken laptop and other things,” said Singh, pointing out that the accused had hacked into the girl's Facebook and WhatsApp profiles, too.

The Oshivara police station has registered a case under Indian Penal Code Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman to outrage her modesty), 354D (stalking) 427 (mischief), 501 (printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 504 (intentional insult with an intent to breach peace), besides the Information Technology Act's Section 66.
