SC refuses to go on break during Games

Justice S H Kapadia, who would be the Chief Justice from May 12, after the present incumbent Justice K G Balakrishnan demits office, refused to agree to the suggestion put forth by the committee in a letter, said a Supreme Court source here on Monday.  
The representation written by the committee was forwarded to Justice Kapadia for a decision.

Lawyers and litigants constitute a major chunk of traffic in the morning and evening near the India gate and national stadium as apart from the Supreme Court, the round-about has also the Delhi High Court and New Delhi District courts.

The Sheila Dikshit government has already declared closure of all government and private schools in the capital during the period. She had said the holiday period during Dusshera has been rescheduled so that students could enjoy the mega sporting event.
