Senior railway official tests positive for coronavirus; third case at Rail Bhavan

A senior officer working in Rail Bhavan tested COVID-19 positive, becoming third such case at Ministry of Railway headquarters here.

The officer, who was working on the restructuring of the Railway Protection Force, attended office at Rail Bhawan till May 13.

The officer normal course of work also involves dealing with people from the Secretary's branch.

One of senior-level officer, who worked with her and some of her junior staff have been asked to home quarantine for 14 days.

Earlier, after a Rail Protection Force (RPF) staff working in Rail Bhavan tested positive, Rail Bhan was closed for two days for sanitisation. A few days later a langur handler, working in Rail Bhavan under a contractor to driving out monkeys, was tested positive.
