With the northward zoom of Covid-19, the Shiv Sena on Monday urged the Narendra Modi-government at the Centre to convene a special Parliament session to discuss the ongoing second wave of the pandemic sweeping the globe and to chart the road ahead.
“We can have a Parliament session with all the social distancing norms and other protocols and SOPs…the last (winter) session was held with social distancing,” Shiv Sena chief spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member said.
Raut, a close aide of Maharashtra chief minister and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, said that he has been speaking to people across parties and states.
“The situation is serious…may of them feel like I feel and we should have a special session where the state can present their problems and seek remedial measures and necessary help,” Raut told reporters in Mumbai.
Taking to Twitter, he said: “It's an unprecedented and almost a war like situation. Utmost confusion and tension everywhere! No beds, no oxygen and no vaccination as well ! It's nothing but total chaos !
A special session of the Parliament for at least two days should be called to discuss the situation! Jai Hind,” he wrote.
