Siddaramaiah calls on AP Chief Minister

Karnataka Chief Minister K Siddaramaiah called on his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Kiran Kumar Reddy here this evening.

"It was a courtesy call and both the Chief Ministers discussed various issues of mutual interest," a press release from the Chief Minister's office here said.

Andhra Pradesh PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana and ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, N Raghuveera Reddy, K Jana Reddy and others were present on the occasion.

The Karnataka Chief Minister was on a day's visit to Hyderabad where he was felicitated by several backward class associations under the aegis of Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao.

Speaking at the function, Siddaramaiah said he would strive to ensure both AP and Karnataka marched ahead on the development front through mutual co-operation.

"It was only under the Congress that backward classes and other downtrodden sections of society got justice. I am an example of this. Hailing from a poor BC family, I rose to become the Chief Minister," Siddaramaiah said.
