The members of the Opposition DMK and its ally Congress staged a walkout from the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Thursday after speaker Dhanapal denied permission to raise the issue of two AIADMK MLAs, who allegedly confessed to a private channel that huge money was offered to legislators to support V K Sasikala's group during their stay at Koovathur resort ahead of the trust vote in the floor of the House during February 2017.

Soon after the question hour, when DMK working president and the leader of the Opposition M K Stalin attempted to raise the issue for the second day, speaker once again reiterated that the issue is with the court and legislators were no suppose to discuss in the House.

Dhanapal pointed out that during the previous DMK regime the then speaker did not allowed to raise any issue that was published or broadcasted in the media without any evidence.

The DMK members once again pointed out that their case will be taken by the court only on coming Friday and therefore, the matter could be raised in the House.

However, when Dhanapal refused to accept the Opposition members request, the DMK led Stalin staged a walkout. Soon after DMK members walked out, Congress MLAs too followed them.
