The viscera report of Sunanda Pushkar, Union minister Shashi Tharoor’s wife, who died under mysterious circumstances two months ago, hints towards drug poisoning, but its findings are inconclusive, an FIR in the case cannot be filed on their basis, according to the police.

“The CFSL (Central Forensic Science Laboratory) report has not been able to give much headway into the probe. It rules out poisoning and hints at drug poisoning,” said a senior police official associated with the probe.

It was expected that the nature of the poison and the quantity could be established after viscera tests at CFSL, but the report has failed to do so.

Police sources said investigators will now take the opinion of the panel of doctors from AIIMS which had carried out an autopsy to shed light into the findings of the CFSL report.

The findings in the report, which was handed over to the Delhi Police on Friday, are inconclusive, they said.
