The party leaders said that the MPs were the whistle-blowers of the issue. They also alleged that they were being targeted. The BJP leaders said it was the Congress government who was responsible for the scam. The money was paid to the MPs to save the UPA-1 , they alleged.
Former Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh has also been sent to the high security Tihar jail for allegedly playing a pivotal role in the bribery case.
