Taj vulnerable to terror attack

Senior officials of Uttar Pradesh, who rushed to Agra after the blast at the hospital, visited the Taj to inspect the security arrangements.   “It was found that four of the eight CCTVs installed inside the ‘Yellow Zone’ were not in order,” said an official, who accompanied the inspection team. The ‘Yellow Zone’ is the area outside the Taj Mahal.  The UP police and the Provincial Arms Constabulary (PAC) man the security in the ‘yellow zone’. “The X-Ray machine inside the Red Zone was also found to be non-functional,” the official said.  The “Red Zone” is the area inside the Taj Mahal where the security is the responsibility of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

“This could result in serious security scare. The matter has been taken up with the security agencies responsible for the Taj security...they have assured that it will be looked into and necessary action will be taken,” he added
