The suspension followed Reddy's comments against the Speaker, which created chaos in the House for a short discussion during the Governor's speech. Addressing the Speaker, Jagadish Reddy said, "You became Speaker only because we elected you. The House doesn't belong to you alone - it belongs to everyone." Congress members strongly objected to this statement.

Earlier, a heated discussion took place in the Assembly regarding Jagadish Reddy's remarks. Minister D Sridhar Babu stated that no one has the authority to question the Speaker's decision either inside or outside the House. He expressed pain at hearing someone address the Speaker in singular form. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka suggested referring the matter to the Ethics Committee and suspending the member for the entire session until then. When BRS MLAs requested an opportunity to speak and were denied permission by the Speaker, the party's MLAs walked out of the Assembly.

Jagadish Reddy targeted for exposing Congress government's falsehood: K T Rama Rao

BRS Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) strongly condemned Jagadish Reddy's suspension from the Telangana Legislative Assembly, calling it an outrageous act undermining democratic values based on baseless allegations. KTR accused the Congress government of suspending Reddy on fabricated grounds, claiming that words he never uttered were attributed to him.

He alleged that Congress is attempting to silence BRS out of fear that the party's presence in the budget sessions would expose issues of contracts, commissions, and the transfer of funds to Delhi. Protesting the suspension, KTR, along with BRS MLAs and MLCs, held a demonstration in front of the Ambedkar statue and announced statewide protests across all constituencies on March 14, 2025.

KTR stated that Jagadishwar Reddy was deliberately targeted and suspended as part of a conspiracy while he was exposing falsehoods in the Governor's address. Despite interruptions from Congress ministers and MLAs through running commentary, Jagadish Reddy maintained composure, KTR noted.

He highlighted that Reddy was raising critical issues including wilting crops, agricultural decline, farmers' hardships, stalled loan waivers, delayed Rythu Bandhu payments, unimplemented six guarantees, and unfulfilled promises. KTR charged that unable to counter these criticisms, the government resorted to unethical tactics by suspending him. He emphasised that Reddy did not use a single unparliamentary word during his speech.
